Hoody was born in New Zealand; however, he is a fully fledged proud Australian now with citizenship and, is one of those folks that was born for centre stage with his trusty Fender Precision bass.
As a founding member of the Allniters, Hoody decided to move on and created the world renown ‘cow-punk’ band The Johnnys delivering their big hits Bleeding Heart and Injun Joe. Hoody has played in a plethora of red-hot bands over the years including The Beasts Of Bourbon, The Cool Charmers, The Johnnys, The Crisps and a new venture, The Silver Dragons.
Having travelled the world, which included living in London for 9 years, Hoody now resides on the Central Coast of NSW, he has seen most of what the world of Rock n Roll has to offer over the last 50 plus years and strangely enough has retained most of that knowledge which he shares with us every Saturday Morning from 9 until noon right here on Big Lagoon Radio

Conrad grew up in the inner western suburbs of Sydney calling Marrickville, Balmain, Rozell and Leichhardt home.
Working as a stone mason and bricklayer, he developed some magnificent artistic capabilities and has brought them into his radio career.
Merkin decided to move to the Central Coast in order to be close to his mother and build his amazing home with his own two hands.
Forever the sportsman, The Surfin’ Merkin has played and excelled at every sport he has turnt his hand to, Conrad now surfs the beaches of the Central Coast daily becoming a quality ‘Surfie’ of note amongst the beach dwellers in the area.
Never having tried his hand, or mouth, at radio, Conrad was asked to join the Big Lagoon Radio Team and has become our surf reporter and storyteller which include some hilarious, bizarre and magnificent tales of his misadventures around this planet.
When the chips are down, you want this guy in your corner as it is a pleasure to have ‘The Surfin’ Merkin’ around the station.
